7 things every DPC website needs to turn visitors into members.
I've worked inside a direct primary care practice since 2019. I've answered the questions patients ask before they join, and I've watched what makes them leave without enrolling. More often than not, it starts with the website.
A DPC website has a harder job than most. It has to explain a model many people have never heard of, then convince them to pay a monthly membership before they've met you. Here are the seven things I look for first on every DPC website I review.
A homepage that explains DPC in one sentence
If your homepage opens with your practice name and a stock photo of a stethoscope, visitors leave confused. Lead with what DPC means for them:
“Unlimited access to your doctor for one monthly membership. No copays, no rushed visits.”Clear, visible pricing
Hidden pricing feels like a catch, and DPC is built on transparency. Show your membership tiers, what each one includes, and who it's for. Patients who see a price up front arrive at their first visit already sold.
A simple “How it works” section
Keep it to three or four steps. When patients can picture the process, joining feels easy instead of risky.
Answers to the objections patients actually have
If your website doesn't answer these, patients assume the answer is bad, or they find a practice that does answer them. A short FAQ on your membership page handles most of them.
People don't join a practice. They join a person.
Your doctor, front and center
A warm, real photo, a short bio, and a few sentences on why your doctor chose DPC build more trust than any list of services.
One obvious next step
“Join now,” “Book a meet-and-greet,” or “Check availability”: pick one main action and repeat it on every page. When visitors have five choices, they usually pick none.
A site that works beautifully on a phone
Most future patients will find you on their phone, often late at night while comparing options. If your pricing table is cut off or your button is hard to tap, they're gone, and they won't come back to try again on a laptop.
